A retreat has a schedule. A guest’s memory of it may follow a different order: a conversation, the setting, a question that was answered, or the people they met. Earlier Google reviews of El Retiro in Las Terrenas offer a way to explore those details through individual accounts.
These reviews describe earlier stays, sometimes several years ago. They do not establish that a guest attended the current program. Activities and arrangements can differ, and personal experiences are not promises of the same outcome for someone else.
Perspective, described by one guest
Ignacio Soto wrote: “Me llevo una nueva perspectiva y herramientas para mi camino espiritual.” In English: “I take away a new perspective and tools for my spiritual path.” His review was dated September 12, 2025.
The useful detail is its specificity: Ignacio describes what he felt he took away. We should not turn that into a claim that every guest will leave with clarity or experience a particular change. It can instead open a question for a prospective participant: what would you like to make time to reflect on?
Personal attention can mean clear answers
Miguel D. R. wrote: “Nelson contestó todas y cada una de nuestras preguntas.” Translated from Spanish: “Nelson answered each and every one of our questions.”
That is a concrete observation about communication. Before choosing a program, useful questions include what is on the schedule, what is optional, what the accommodation arrangements are, and what support is included. A past review cannot replace clear information about the program you are considering now.
A wish to return and an actual return are different
Linsey Juarez’s April 9, 2025 review states: “I have now gone 3 times to see Nelson and Alina.” This describes completed visits. Other reviewers say they hope to return; that expresses an intention, not evidence of another stay.
Keeping that distinction helps preserve the meaning of the original review. Neither statement tells us what another person will experience, but each can be reported accurately as that guest’s account.
Read the details, then ask about the present program
Reviews are most useful when read with their dates and context. Look at the full review rather than a single enthusiastic sentence. Consider critical feedback as well as positive accounts. Ask which details still apply to the current activities, accommodation and support arrangements.
For the September program, ask El Retiro for the current schedule and room options. Earlier guest reflections can inform your questions; current program information should inform your decision.
